Owned by the Resort Municipality of Whistler, the Whistler Housing Authority (WHA) oversees the development, administration, and management of employee restricted housing in Whistler. With a target to house 75 per cent of the town’s employees locally within Whistler, the WHA works with public and private property owners to ensure both rental and ownership accommodation are available and affordable for local income earners and retirees.

The WHA chose ITK and the Power Platform over Salesforce to construct a new online property inventory management system. This new database and application allows both staff and property owners to list and manage the inventory of over 2,000 properties and 7,500 beds. This Power Platform solution centralizes property data, provides stakeholder access based on a robust security model, and presents a wide range of analytical tools.

Property owners and WHA staff can submit covenant, property details, purchase, and capital improvement data and values that in turn calculates  fair market value rents and resale prices. The system has a number of other inputs, including Consumer Price Index, Home Price Index, and interest rates. With all this data, WHA staff can produce internal and external reports determining minimum and maximum rental rates and sale prices, as well as trends in said prices and aforementioned indices.
