As a Functional Consultant, I feel that my role is both defined and expansive. I am given the freedom to provide value for our customers in a number of different ways. The flexible and varied nature of the work is what appeals to me the most.
I am typically working on one to four projects at a time and my specific role depends on the composition of the team and the scope of the project. In any given day I could be assisting in the configuration of applications on the Power Platform, conducting business / data analysis, requirements gathering, and designing / providing end-user training.
ITK traditionally conducts project work in an Agile manner. As a result, in daily scrum meetings, everyone gets a chance to voice their opinion and project roles are usually well defined. If you’re unclear on what to do, or what takes priority on a given day, there’s a team to ask to get an answer. Between the flexible nature of the Functional Consultant role, and the support from teammates, I am able to lean into my strengths and see significant growth in my weaknesses.
